Those cookies really made Dao happy because they were unique and really made with love by Shan Cai. Even though they're not perfect, it meant a lot to Dao.
But of course, if you want to create better looking cookies, you can always create your own cookie cutters! All you need are the following:
- Roll of aluminum flashing (safe for food)/lasagna pan
- Photograph of the shape you want to make/Paper and pentel pen to draw the shape
- A Ruler
- Heavy duty scissors
- Stapler/epoxy (safe for food)
- String/clips
- Cardboard surface to work on
Basically, all you have to do is to cut a strip of aluminum with a width of 1 inch.
And then bend the metal to follow the shape of your picture.
Rub epoxy on the ends of the cookie cutter and secure it with clips to hold it together until dry. Make sure there is an overlap between the ends. Or you can staple the ends together instead. Make sure there is also an overlap.
There you go, make cookies for all occasions! Birthday cookies, wedding cookies, bridal shower cookies. Have fun! :)
Here are detailed step-by-step links on how to make your own cookie cutters: Link 1 (uses aluminum flashing) and Link 2 (uses old lasagna pan).
