Dunkin Donuts: My Childhood Restaurant Love for Egg n' Cheese Bunwich

Whenever I hear Dunkin Donuts, two things come to mind:


1. Christian Bautista's Dunkin Donuts Concert 

     Remember 5-7 years ago, when Christian Bautista was just starting out (and he's not yet buff like in his Gold's Gym posters), he had his first Araneta concert with the help of Dunkin Donuts. I wanted to much to go because Gary V was going to be in the concert (sorry Christian!). This was really a memorable concert for me because of my siblings. This is a whole different story which I will share in another entry. For now, let's focus on my Egg & Cheese Bunwich. :)


2. My Childhood Restaurant Love for Egg & Cheese Bunwich


     Growing up, there used to be a nearby Dunkin Donuts restaurant from the Church we go to every Sunday. Right after mass, we would always go to Dunkin Donuts as a whole family and order the same thing: Egg & Cheese Bunwich and Grape Juice. Yes, we did this every weekend and we loved it. Plus, they had a playground area so we really loved this place.

Too bad that Dunkin Donuts restaurant closed down and when it opened again, it was only a stall. :( Awww. Despite this, we would always remember those Sunday mornings in that store playing in their little playhouse while waiting for our orders. Then we would chomp down on those Bunwich after running around so much.

Dunkin Donuts Egg n' Cheese Bunwich

Because we love this Egg n' Cheese Bunwich and Grape juice combo so much, I begged my parents to eat in Dunkin Donuts (a mall branch) after watching Despicable Me last September 4. Yes, watching a movie with my parents made me feel like a kid again.

After biting into my bunwich, I swear I could see the playground where we used to play. My childhood memories just came flooding back. It was not the same branch, but this bunwich brought back childhood memories. And yes, the Egg n' Cheese Bunwich was still great! The buns were still soft with a hint of sweetness and the egg and cheese melted in my mouth so wonderfully. I don't know what egg and cheese they use, but these two just mix so well with the buns. YUM! 

The grape juice was still perfect! It was not too strong. It had the perfect mix of water and grape powder. It's still the best drink to go with my Egg n' Cheese Bunwich. 


There are 9 flavors of Bunwich namely corned beef omelet, Spanish sausage, ham n' cheese, bacon, coselaw and tomato, chicken salad, corned beef salad, egg n' cheese and tuna salad. Still, my favorite bunwich is egg n' cheese! It just melts in my mouth. 


Interestingly, while I was researching the other flavors of Bunwich, I saw their press release, "Dunkin Donut Philippines Emphasizes Family Bonding", isn't that so cool? It's exactly what Dunkin Donut means to our family. They also described Bunwich as a melt-in-your-mouth sandwich. Haha, I was surprised to see those exact words in that article after typing them earlier in this entry. Shucks, I'm part of Dunkin Donut's target market. Hahaha. (I swear, I only saw their press release after typing everything before the part on the Bunwich flavors.)


Anyway, it's another Sunday today. I'm tempted to relive those Dunkin Donut memories by bringing home Egg n' Cheese Bunwich and Grape Icy Cooler for everyone. :) Happy Sunday!
