Maginhawa Street's Cocina Juan: The Winner Central American Dinner on 10-10-10

Yesterday, I talked about how I spent my 10-10-10 but I skipped out on the dinner part because I felt it deserved a separate blog entry. Yes it's that special!

We wanted to go up to Antipolo and eat in TOSH to enjoy a great view but after 4 taxi rejections, we decided to have a plan B and head out to Maginhawa Street instead.

Last time I was there, I visited Delish and had a great time. Across Delish though, I saw this other restaurant that caught my eye as well, Cocina Juan. For our monthsary dinner, we decided to try out this Central American garden-looking restaurant. Can I just say, it's really one winner dinner!

10-10-10 Monthsary Gift: Scalloped Potatoes from Scratch

Yesterday it was 10-10-10 day :)

There's an interesting project called One Day on Earth that asks people from all over the world to simultaneously document their own 10-10-10 story in order to create a 10-10-10 world film. I tried documenting my own by taking videos but I don't think my 10-10-10 day was so ground shaking since I had to be stuck at home for more than half the day due to the weather. Booo!

Anyway, since 10-10-10 also meant our monthsary, I decided to cook up something in the kitchen for RJ. We've been eating out a lot so it was a nice change and I just wanted to show him that I can cook (and not just bake)! He's a better cook than I am. :P

I took out my trusty FOOD cookbook and decided to make Scalloped Potatoes from scratch as a monthsary gift. My ate helped me out on this one too so that I can take pictures occasionally.
